From the viewpoint of increased convenience, the “connected car” (also known as “the connectedness of the car”) is attracting attention. Multiple uses are under consideration, such as proposing alternative routes based on the prediction of heavy traffic from “big data” (driving information), and informing the driver when to change tires by analyzing the damage caused by oil stains and friction. “The connectedness of the car” is just getting underway. Just as how smartphones increase their functions through continual updates, there may be a time when cars can be easily updated as well. The possibilities of the connected car seem limitless.
