Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. (headquartered in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture; Kenichi Urushibata, President; hereinafter referred to as "SWS") is pleased to announce that 7 of its SWS Athlete employees have been selected to represent Japan in the Rugby World Cup New Zealand 2021, to be held from October 8 to November 12, 2022.

The athletes will participate in the last training camp in Japan before leaving for New Zealand.

◆SWS's Support for Athletes
To support the "Employment Support for Top Athletes (As Job Mie)" in Mie Prefecture, where Sumitomo Wiring Systems headquarters is located, we have been continuously hiring athlete employees since 2016. 12 employees (10 female rugby players, 1 sport climber, 1 para-athlete track and field athlete) are currently employed as of August 2022. They are balancing their careers as athletes and company employees. We will continue to contribute to society by providing support for sports, supporting employment of athletes, and promoting sports activities for the physically challenged.
