Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. (SWS) (Head office: Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, President: Osamu Inoue) has established a subsidiary ""SWS Smile, Ltd."" to further promote employment of persons with disabilities on the premise of obtaining approval as a Special Subsidiary Company in accordance with the Act on Employment Promotion etc. of Persons with Disabilities (hereafter the Act)

The SWS Group has been proactively engaged in employment of persons with disabilities. To employ persons with disabilities, however, it is essential to establish a carefully thought-out acceptance system in consideration of, for example, their workplace environment, working conditions, or support according to their abilities. There are cases where it is difficult to flexibly respond to these under an employment system within a single company.
Therefore, for the purpose of further promoting employment of persons with disabilities, we have established SWS Smile, Ltd. as a subsidiary where special consideration is provided for persons with disabilities. We will expedite the procedure to obtain approval as a Special Subsidiary Company in accordance with the Act.
At SWS Smile, we will optimize the layout of equipment, devices, and working positions so that persons with disabilities can work at their full potential. We will also manage the workplace environment, considering risks and safety to the fullest.
In workplace environments such as this, SWS Smile will undertake operations such as sorting and recycling of disposal products and cleaning of product containers, which are currently consigned to external companies. In the future, we will begin providing clerical support, such as disposal of confidential documents and digitization of files, and also begin greenery business.
The SWS Group will strive to create better workplace environments where all employees, including those with disabilities, can work with vigor and fully demonstrate their abilities.
