Developing Global Human Resources

In our rapidly changing global society, we need to develop global human resources who can quickly and flexibly solve problems in new situations, cooperate with others with different backgrounds and opinions to build relationships of mutual trust, and become able to play an active role globally through self-directed and continuous learning. To achieve this, we have established a variety of human resource policies and provide practical training opportunities.

System of overseas assignment and international transfers

We station representatives in each country to work in a country for three to five years and act as bridges between our diversified global businesses.
In addition, we have introduced an "international transfer system" under which employees of overseas group companies work at our bases in Japan. The purpose of this is to strengthen the development of global human resources within and outside of Japan, to increase the autonomy of local bases, and to promote diversity. We have seen that these programs are having a positive impact on the entire SWS Group, by fostering a corporate culture in which a diverse workforce can flourish, nurturing globally minded executive personnel, strengthening the technical capabilities of each company, and improving retention rates.
The SWS Group will continue to promote the active exchange of global human resources with the aim of becoming a company where diverse human resources can play an active role.

Overseas Trainee System

This is a training system that is mainly for young employees. It allows the participants to experience operations at overseas bases for a period of six months to one year. There are cases where trainees go overseas from Japan, and cases where trainees come to Japan from overseas. We aim to deepen understanding of working abroad and cultivate human resources capable of thriving on a global scale.

Overseas training

We conduct overseas training as part of our global human resource development and career building program for young employees after they join the company. In this training, employees travel from Japan to overseas group companies to participate in practical factory training related to Wiring Harness manufacturing processes, and to conduct unique activities to deepen their knowledge of their assigned work in cooperation with the representatives stationed at the base and other local personnel.
This training program was initiated in 1997 for new employees. Implementation had been postponed since FY2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the scope of the target group has been expanded from FY2024 and the training has been restarted. The participation of 165 SWS Group employees is planned for FY2024.

Global training

We conduct various global training programs as part of our overseas national staff development for the purpose of developing the core personnel of overseas group companies as our future "global executives." This includes the Global Leadership Program (GLP) held once a year in cooperation with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI), and overseas manager training conducted separately in each region (Europe, North and South Americas, APAC, and China).
