SWS Group Environmental Fair 2009

Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., headquartered in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, with Fumikiyo Uchioke as President, will hold the 9th SWS Group Environmental Fair at 11 locations across Japan, starting at the Headquarters on November 12, 2009.

Regarding environmental issues as one of the most important management issues, the SWS Group has been globally promoting environmentally-conscious business activities based on the "Environment Preservation Principles" and "Environment Preservation Action Guideline" established in 1995.

To fulfill these "Environment Preservation Principles," we began holding the Environmental Fair open to the public in 2001, in order to raise the awareness of environmental preservation activities in each employee within the SWS Group, reflect this awareness in our daily behavior, and have local residents understand the SWS Group's environmental efforts. Approximately 5,300 people, including both employees and the public, visited the Environmental Fair at various locations in Japan last year.

Under the theme of "Eco Life Connected to the Future - To reduce 1 kg of CO2 per Person per Day," the Environmental Fair 2009 will tour 11 locations in Japan from November 12, 2009 to February 26, 2010.

In the Environmental Fair, global environment issues such as global warming, the influence of SWS Group's business activities on the environment, and SWS Group's environmental preservation approaches (development of environmentally conscious products, green procurement/purchasing, etc.) will be broadly introduced through panels, displays showing actual articles, video presentations, etc. All employees will participate in this fair. In addition, individual SWS Group companies also plan to hold their own Environmental Fairs, reflecting their own original activities.

The SWS Group will enhance the environmental awareness of all employees by accumulating these activities one by one, and promote environmentally conscious business activities.
