Establishing a Logistics Subsidiary in HuiZhou, China

Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. (Head office: Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, Japan; President: Tadashi Shimokawa) establishes a logistics subsidiary in HuiZhou City, China, to strengthen Sumitomo Wiring Systems group companies' logistics support systems along with the group's expansion of business in China.

The Sumitomo Wiring Systems group has been actively developing production bases overseas to further expand its business overseas. In order to support the business expansion overseas, the group is striving to build and strengthen global logistics support systems. Especially, we have been quickly expanding our businesses in China in recent years, and currently 14 subsidiaries are operating. We are now addressing for the construction of logistics support systems in China as an urgent matter.

Under the circumstances, the Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. establishes a subsidiary that handles total logistics from planning to operations around China with the purpose of increasing efficiency and reinforcing logistics systems for group companies in China. The new company will be a joint venture between Sumitomo Wiring Systems that has know-how on wiring harness logistics including international transportation and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. that has accumulated experience about logistics in China, as well as automobile part logistics. The joint venture is expected to strengthen logistics support systems in China.

   (including indirect investment).

cargo transportation services, warehouse operation

• Established : February 2006

• Start of operation : April 2006

• Planned sales : 870 million yen (term ending December 2007)

• Number of employees : 80 (at the end of 2006)
