Received award from Yamagata Prefecture for being an "Eco Style Challenge" company for two consecutive years
The Yamagata Works of Tohoku Sumidenso, Ltd., an SWS subsidiary,received an award from Yamagata Prefecture's Global Warming Prevention Campaign Promotion Council, for being an excellent "Eco Style Challenge" company, for two consecutive years, in addition to their first award received in fiscal 2007.
Yamagata Prefecture has been implementing the "What a waste! Yamagata Eco Challenge Campaign" since fiscal 2007 throughout the prefecture to promote global warming prevention activities. The Campaign is implemented over two periods: summer and winter. Approximately 700 companies in Yamagata Prefecture participate in the Campaign, and 10 companies are awarded for their original activities, such as energy saving activities and recycling promotion activities.
Yamagata Works received an award as the following points were evaluated highly: Held a public environmental fair in a regional community center (summer) and operated the plant equipment with less energy (winter).
Encouraged by receiving an award for two consecutive years, we will further enhance environmental awareness and continue proactive activities, aiming to receive an award for three consecutive years.
