Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd., headquartered in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, with Fumikiyo Uchioke as President, will hold the 10th SWS Group Environmental Fair at 12 locations across Japan, starting at the Headquarters on November 10, 2010.

Regarding the environment as a paramount management issue, the SWS Group has been globally promoting environmentally-conscious business activities based on the "Environment Preservation Principles" and "Environment Preservation Action Guideline" established in 1995.

To fulfill these "Environment Preservation Principles," we introduced the Environmental Fair to the public in 2001 in order to raise the awareness of environmental preservation activities in each employee within the SWS Group, to reflect this awareness in our daily conduct, and to have local residents understand the SWS Group's environmental efforts. Approximately 4,900 people, including both employees and the public, visited the Environmental Fair at various locations in Japan last year.

Under the theme of "Let's Practice Eco Life - For a gentler life for the Earth and household economy," the Environmental Fair 2010 will tour 12 locations in Japan from November 2010 to March 2011.

In addition to global environment issues such as global warming, and SWS Group's environmental preservation approaches that are featured every year, the Environmental Fair this year will introduce Eco Life activities through the "Environment Minister at Home" initiative advocated by the Ministry of the Environment and explain basic environmental terminology that one often hears but may not clearly understand. Panels, demonstration items, and visuals will be used to help participants become more familiar with the awareness of environmental preservation. All employees will be participating in this fair. In addition, individual SWS Group companies also plan to hold their own Environmental Fairs, reflecting their own original activities.

The SWS Group aims to build up the environmental awareness of all employees step by step through these activities, and promote environmentally conscious business activities.
